Christmas in Eindhoven: GLOW, Sinterklaas and Brabant cosiness
Every November GLOW turns Eindhoven into a trail of light art, and that atmosphere lingers until the holidays. In Brabant people love gezelligheid, that warm Dutch cosiness, and a full house. But here too, Christmas starts after Sinterklaas. Order in November; put your tree up on 6 December and it stays perfect until Epiphany, and it's back in the attic well before carnival.

Tree collection in January? Not with an artificial tree
In January the City of Eindhoven collects real Christmas trees by neighbourhood. But the tree has to go out of the house, you have to stick to the collection day and you keep sweeping needles, just as all of Brabant is getting ready for carnival.
An artificial tree can be packed away after use. Slip it into the storage bag and store it in the attic or storage room, ready for next year.
Beyond Eindhoven: Den Bosch, Tilburg, Helmond and the Kempen
Many families in the region spend Christmas in Helmond, 's-Hertogenbosch, Tilburg or the villages of the Kempen (Bergeijk, Eersel, Bladel). Others head to a holiday home on the Brabantse Wal or in Limburg.
